# UPD Tokens

UPD is the token used in Updraft. Every person is entitled to a recurring share of UPD tokens. This recurring share is paid for by fees which keep Updraft free from spam.

## Uses for UPD

### Anti-spam fees

Most actions have a small fee, paid in UPD. This fee goes to a faucet that provides UPD to everyone. You can collect your share of this faucet from our [Discord server](https://discord.gg/mQJ58MY6Nz).

As the name suggests, anti-spam fees also help protect Updraft from spam.

### Supporting Ideas

When supporting Ideas, you temporarily lock some of your UPD tokens. You usually get 89% of your UPD back when you withdraw your support. 1% goes to everyone through the anti-spam fee and 10% goes to earlier supporters of the Idea as a [Funder Reward](https://guide.updraft.fund/updraft/basics/funder-rewards).

You can also earn Funder Rewards yourself and make a profit funding Ideas if you're early and they prove to be popular.
