# Supporting an Idea

When you support an Idea, you show that you would like to see it implemented. You raise awareness for it by your support. The Idea's 🔥 interest increases, which makes it more visible to other people, and more likely that people will draft Solutions for it.

You also have the potential to earn 🎁 funder rewards for creating or supporting an Idea.

## Positions

Each time you support an Idea, you create a *position* in that Idea.

When you withdraw from a position, you receive your original contribution, minus any 🎁 funder reward and anti-spam fees you paid, plus any amount you earned from 🎁 funder rewards.

{% hint style="info" %}
The default 🎁 funder reward for Ideas is 10%. The anti-spam fee is typically 1%.
{% endhint %}

### Multiple positions

Because the earning potential of a position increases over time, when you add more support, you create another position. Each position must be withdrawn separately.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://guide.updraft.fund/updraft/basics/supporting-an-idea.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
